Home Elevation Services

is the process of raising a house above its current foundation. This is done for a variety of reasons, such as to protect the house from flooding or to make room for a new foundation. Hale Built Group specializes in Home Elevation and has been 1st in quality since 1946.

Evaluate the Project Scope

First, we work out the scope of your project, determining how we'll approach it. This includes things like project cost, height, position, your home's existing foundation, all potential hazards, access points, optimum service equipment to use, any client restrictions you may have, and more.

Getting this done efficiently from the start helps save time, money, and patience by identifying and eliminating any unexpected problems before they begin. Take the first step with our project scope and cost evaluations!

Excavate & Lift the House

The excavation process begins once the necessary paperwork has been completed and all required utility service/line disconnections have been handled. This is when we begin to prepare your property for its new location and foundation.

Any excavation or strengthening that must be done around the foundation, any lifting beams that must be installed, or roof framing that needs to be removed/installed as necessary, happens before the home elevation is executed. This is done with steel girders or hydraulic/manually operated jacks.

Finalize the Foundation

After the house has been raised, we'll work on extending the old or building a new foundation. The installation of the slab and all subsequent work such as extending the foundation's walls, adding wall openings for floodwaters, replacing the roof or floor framings, constructing an entirely new floor, putting up stanchions or columns, and other similar tasks, are completely dependent on what was discovered in the first stage.

After making sure that everything is level and up to code, we proceed to the final step.

Lower & Reconnect

Lastly, the house is then lowered onto its new foundation, we'll take care of reconnecting all utilities and restoring any services that were disrupted during the process. This can include water, gas, electricity, telephone, sewage, and cable/internet. We'll also make sure the new foundation is properly backfilled and compacted.

After all utilities and services are restored or set up, we conduct a final walkthrough with our customers to ensure that everything is in order and to their satisfaction!

Home Elevation FAQ

The most common reasons many homeowners choose to lift  their home include:

1. To protect your home from flooding or other damage caused by severe weather conditions.

2. To make necessary repairs or improvements to your home’s foundation.

3. To create additional living space by adding a second story to your home.

4. To increase return on property value when the time comes to move.

Whether you're considering upgrading, repairs, growth, or remodeling, if you want to raise your house, it's critical to get advice from a specialist before making a decision. Hale Built doesn't try to sell you services you don't need but focuses its attention on each project individually, striving to meet your house-raising goals. If a service isn't necessary, we'll be the ones to tell you.
The overall cost of raising a house varies significantly based on the conditions of the project. The project's complexity, size, location, choice of raising technique, and age or condition of the home all influence the total cost. In New Jersey, the average cost per foot to lift a house is approximately $10 to $30. Smaller projects ranging from $400 to $4,000 are possible; larger or more complicated projects costing up to $100,000 are feasible.

We at Hale Built offer comprehensive estimates for projects. You can get a comprehensive appraisal of your project scope in no time by scheduling a talk with one of our specialists!
Once a project's scope is discussed with an expert, it's easier to obtain an exact answer to the total anticipated time. Depending on the scale of the project, a safe assumption is one to several weeks until completion. During the procedure, it's not advised that anyone stay in or enter the home; any delicate or loose property should be secured as a precaution, but the majority of household belongings and appliances may be left alone. Once the house raise is completed, it will take many years for it to fully settle after going through numerous seasonal temperature swings. This natural process, known as "settlement," takes place without the need for additional work.
During the house lifting process, there should be little to no damage. Your house will be safer after it's raised, and its value will rise significantly because of enhanced flood protection, more living space, additional storage, or a combination of factors.

Hale Built's goal is for you to have a worry-free, positive house raising experience that lasts a lifetime; you'll never have to worry about your lifted house's structure deteriorating after choosing Hale Built.

Foundation Repair Services

There are four steps to foundation repair: identifying the problem, planning the repair, carrying out the repair, and monitoring the repair. The Hale Built Group has been offering professional foundation repair for almost 70 years!

Identify the Issue

Identifying the problem is the first step in foundation repair. This usually involves a visual inspection of the foundation and the surrounding area. It is important to look for cracks, settlements, or any other signs of structural damage.

Once the problem has been identified, we determine the cause and if it will cause problems in the future to your home's structure. This will help to ensure that the repair is effective, keeps everyone safe, and prevents any unexpected future problems. We only want to give long-term solutions for your home's foundation.

Plan a Solution

The second stage in foundation repair is planning the repair. This entails determining what sort of repair is necessary, how it will be executed, and if the foundation issue presents an immediate danger to the home or business owner. It's critical to verify that a contractor has the appropriate licenses and insurance before hiring them.

Hale Built can ensure that it has the proper credentials for any foundation repair project you may have. We don't try to upsell you or mislead you, and we realize the importance of a home's foundation.

Execute the Repair

Third, we begin performing the repair, accounting for and notifying you about any unforeseen issues or delays that may occur. Our number one priority is to stabilize the foundation and prevent any further damage to your home.

This usually involves excavating around the perimeter of the foundation, shoring up the foundation with support beams, and/or installing piers to support the weight of the building. Depending on the severity of the damage, repairs can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to complete.

Monitor the Changes

The fourth and final stage in foundation repair is monitoring the repair. This means regularly checking to make sure that the repair is holding up with the house's settlement. This process can take years, so it's important to keep an eye out for any new and unexpected structural cracks or damage to the foundation.

With Hale Built, we aim to have your foundation repair last a lifetime, though it's ideal to have your home or business inspected by a professional every few years to ensure that your foundation remains in good condition.

Foundation Repair FAQ

The cost of a project is determined by the size and complexity of the tasks, among other things. On one hand, simpler projects can end up costing on average anywhere from $1,400 - $5,000.

The higher-cost projects can run you more than $10,000 or more if the project demands it. Regardless of how big or broad your project is, obtaining an estimate before taking on a new major construction project is always a good idea. Hale Built Group provides assessments of your building projects so you may know what options are available to you before deciding whether to borrow money from the bank.
Foundation repairs are ideal when looking to keep your house safe and sound from the ever shifting soil and temperatures that wear at your home's foundation. But repairing your foundation also provides you with some long-term financial advantages, if or when the time comes to sell and relocate.

Yes, repairing both structural and cosmetic foundation problems is more than likely to drastically raise your home's market value.
It is possible that you are reading this while contemplating whether or not to stay on the premises during the repairs. Choosing to leave or stay is entirely optional in the foundation repair process, whether it be a home or business project.

However, if the repairs are urgent and indicate that there is an immediate risk, we will let you know as soon as feasible whether or not you may remain at home during the repair.
With certain repairs, especially with projects that involve an unlevel foundation, new minor cosmetic cracks may begin to form as the house settles. This is a natural process and should be monitored as time passes. No new construction projects should be undergone until this process is complete in order to to reduce the amount of potential cosmetic damage.

In the mean time a homeowner may find themselves:

applying a new coat of paint, adjusting any doors or windows, replacing missing bricks, patching any cracks if possible, and keeping an eye out for potential plumbing issues.
