Sublevel Shoring Job

This home’s 1910 poured walls were beginning to spall and deteriorate. Due to the balloon framing, the engineer designed a new footing and wall within the existing footprint. Concrete restoration compounds were applied to strengthen and seal the foundation due to its poor condition prior to any other work. Extensive shoring and bracing were required to hold the existing walls in place while new footings were dug and poured.

The 1910 poured walls of this home in Highland Park, NJ were showing signs of spalling and deterioration. The balloon framing construction made the situation more complex. The existing foundation was in poor condition, requiring immediate attention to prevent further damage and instability.
To address the deteriorating foundation, the engineering team devised a unique solution. A new footing and wall were designed to be constructed within the existing footprint. Extensive shoring and bracing techniques were employed to hold the existing walls in place during the excavation and pouring of new footings. Following the completion of the shoring and bracing work, as well as the installation of the new footings, the foundation of the home in Highland Park, NJ, underwent a significant transformation. Concrete restoration compounds were applied to enhance the strength and sealing of the foundation, ensuring its durability for years to come. The comprehensive restoration efforts provided a solid and stable foundation, preserving the integrity of the historic property and securing its future.
