Deep Foundation Installation for Environmental Remediation

In Red Bank, NJ, our team completed a multi-phase deep foundation project to support an environmental remediation effort. The work included underpinning piles, soldier piers, tiebacks, whalers, and lagging—installed in stages down to nearly 22 feet. This system ensures long-lasting stability and structural support for the site.

The project site required deep foundation reinforcement to allow for safe excavation and remediation. Unstable soil conditions made underpinning, soldier piers, and tiebacks essential for long-term structural stability.
Work began with the installation of five underpinning piles and ten soldier piers to prepare for lagging support. Crews then excavated to a depth of ten feet below grade, reinforcing the foundation with twelve tiebacks and heavy-duty whalers. As excavation continued to sixteen feet, another twelve tiebacks were installed along with lagging to secure the system. The final stage brought the excavation to nearly twenty-two feet, with nine additional tiebacks driven deep to lock in the foundation’s long-term stability.
The Red Bank deep foundation project was completed smoothly and on schedule. With the reinforced support system in place, the site is now secure, stable, and ready for the next phase of remediation and development.
