Carbon Fiber Crack Stitch Repair

Hale Built recently completed a carbon fiber crack stitch repair on a poured foundation wall in Mullica Hill, NJ. By injecting structural foam to stop water leaks and reinforcing the crack with carbon fiber stitching, we ensured a long-lasting, secure foundation. This solution is stronger than steel, non-corrosive, and maintenance-free, providing durable protection with a smooth, paintable finish.

In Mullica Hill, our client was dealing with a leaking foundation wall caused by a significant crack. The crack allowed water to seep into the basement, raising concerns about the long-term integrity and dryness of the space. Traditional repair options like rebar posed issues with weight, corrosion, and required maintenance—factors the client wanted to avoid. This called for a more advanced, maintenance-free solution that could provide strength without compromising aesthetics. That’s where Hale Built’s carbon fiber wall repair came in.
Our team started by injecting the crack with structural foam to fully seal it off and stop water from leaking into the basement. This initial injection created a solid, water-resistant barrier, ensuring a dry foundation. Next, we applied carbon fiber stitching along the crack, securing and reinforcing the damaged area with durable carbon fiber strips. Unlike rebar, carbon fiber is lightweight, incredibly strong—10 times stronger than steel—and entirely non-corrosive, so the repair requires zero upkeep. This method provides long-lasting protection, making it ideal for permanent structural reinforcement.
With the carbon fiber stitching complete, the foundation wall is now stronger, watertight, and maintenance-free. The smooth, clean finish of the carbon fiber allows for easy coverage with paint or other finishing materials, blending seamlessly with the existing wall for an aesthetic look.
